Welcome to Shrewsbury Ramblers

Based in the County town, our group walks cover Shrewsbury, the Shropshire Hills and the Welsh Borders.

Newcomers are always welcome. If possible ring the leader before coming along or check us on Facebook for last minute changes.

Tuesdays and Sundays are the regular walking days with most walks of 7 - 9 miles, graded easy/moderate/strenuous. See our guide to walk grades. There are occasional longer walks in the border country. Please use your car if possible to help with lifts for those who do not drive.

We meet at 9.30 in Shrewsbury, at Abbey Foregate car park on Sundays and at the back of The Harvester on Old Potts Way on Tuesdays.

Suitable footwear and packed lunch are essential.

There are frequent short walks on Thursdays and occasional Saturday walks using buses.

In the Summer time there are evening walks starting at 7 to 7.15 p.m. from various local pubs.

Usually full cars are driven to the beginning of the walk by giving lifts and leaving some cars in Shrewsbury. Passengers make a contribution to the driver based on mileage.

Dogs ( except guide dogs) are not allowed on walks.

We have an 'Away Week' holiday in late Spring with daily walks in good walking territory. Also occasional coach trips.
